The project at a glance

The “before” photos show a stripped-out basement with exposed joists, and an attic still insulated with its original materials.

The photos taken during the work show the addition clad in black boards, the kitchen cabinets going in, the steel-stringer staircase and the bathroom being prepared.

The “after” photos show the result: a large open-plan room with a kitchen and stone island, a steel-stringer staircase, exposed wood beams and posts, then a bedroom and a bathroom under a cathedral ceiling.
